Funeral Planning Services
Meeting the needs of area families and giving the best care.
Since 1906, when John A. Gentleman began serving families, our community has changed in many ways. Our firm has also matured and changed to meet the needs of a growing community. From our humble beginning at 20th and Cuming Street we have been there to assist families in providing a final tribute to those who have died. In 1956, John A. Gentleman retired and sold his firm to the Belford family, who continues to provide local ownership and guidance today. While the name remains the same, we strive today to provide excellence in all of our services. Every day we come to work knowing that we can, in some way, provide a service that assists families in creating a unique service that celebrates a life.
Funeral Planning Services
Our staff is knowledgeable and friendly, the facilities are modern and immaculate and our pricing is fair. We know that you will be so pleased with the services you receive that we personally guarantee your satisfaction. Today, without question, John A. Gentleman Mortuaries offers the best value in this area. When we refer to “Service beyond the Services ” you can be assured that the assistance your family receives during the course of a service continues on after the funeral has ended.
In addition to our commitment at the time of loss we offer a wide range of services from our Funeral Pre-planning program that can assist with traditional burial, cremation options, and veteran benefits, the Botanical Memorial, to support groups designed to help you work through your grief after a time of loss.
Creating your own unique life celebration allows you to make sure that your wishes and desires are respected upon your passing. However you decide to be memorialized, pre-planning and preparation gives you control over the personal decisions that must be made when a person moves on from this life. Planning can be meaningful for your family, as well, if you choose to include them in the process. It can help them to feel connected to you both in life and in death, knowing that your arrangements reflect exactly what you envisioned them to be.
It takes the burden off of your family and friends.
When a loved one passes, the family faces an overwhelming number of tasks and decisions, all while struggling through grief and a range of difficult emotions. By taking care of your arrangements before the time of need, you’re relieving them of that burden and giving them more time and energy to focus on healing and remembrance. They won’t have to ask themselves, “Am I making the right choices?” and can instead focus on what matters: saying goodbye and celebrating your life journey with those who cared about you most.
It gives you the ability to pre-pay, if you wish. While pre-funding your funeral is certainly not required in order to pre-plan, pre-payment means that your funds will be set aside and protected against inflation and unforeseen increases in cost. Your family won’t have to worry about payment, and can enjoy peace of mind knowing that everything has been taken care of. We’d be happy to provide you with more information and help you arrange for pre-funding of your services.
